Get out of the gate fast with our complete starter kit that includes a 12″ AR500 Steel Gong, Universal Gong stand Brackets and a Gong Strap to mount your target to the stand. All you need to do is pick-up 1/2″ rebar from your local building supply store and you’re up and running. You can add more targets later if you wish. This target can be set up close to shoot pistol and as far away as you wish to practice the “one shot, one kill” opportunity on that trophy game animal.
NOTE: As with all of our products, don’t shoot with any cartridge that exceeds 3000 fps. at close range – see our recommendations on the about page.

You will end up spending about $15 in rebar from your local Big Box home improvement store – First Shot Targets recommended 4X 3 foot lengths of no. 5 (1/2" in diameter) for the legs, and a 4 foot length for the center span – this will easily accommodate 2 extra targets in the future.
The AR500 steel target holds very well! After 220 rounds of steel core 7.62x54R surplus ammo from 50 yards, the only visible damage were tiny pits on the face, and the edges showed slightly deeper gouges. No denting/spalling visible on back.

You will need four 3ft lengths of no. 5 rebar (1/2" diameter round) and a 4ft length for the spanning piece. Costs about $12-$15 at your local big box store and your up and shooting!
The 3/8" AR500 steel is tough! After 200+ rounds of steel core surplus 7.62x54r ammunition @ 50-75 yards, the only damage was cosmetic (paint) and tiny dimples. No damage evident on the backside of the plate at all!
Great buy, I look forward to adding two more gongs from First Shot to the 4 foot span for pistol action.

Great set!!!!! I would recommend this for any person wanting to shoot rifles and make their own setup.
